CCDE – Certified Comprehensive Driver Evaluations assessments provide a valuable resource for assessing risks and identifying problem areas on an individual basis. We’re here to support younger drivers in overcoming obstacles and ensuring their safety on the road.


At Allied Learning Center (ALC), we understand that driving is more than just transportation; it’s an integral part of daily life. The loss of driving ability or the decision to restrict driving can have far-reaching consequences, impacting not only mobility but also independence.

Our comprehensive driver evaluation program, is designed to provide reliable assessments for individuals facing driving challenges. Our evaluation covers crucial areas such as legal, cognitive, visual, physical, behavioral, financial, social, and potential future issues.

Who Needs a Certified Comprehensive Driver Evaluation?

Drivers experiencing any of the following:

      • Medical conditions that could affect driving abilities.
      • Changes in vision.
      • Concerns about medication effects on driver safety.
      • Periods of time without driving.
      • Stroke recovery.
      • Traumatic brain injury.
      • Mental or physical decline due to accidents or illnesses.
      • Lack of confidence in driving ability.
      • Recent auto accidents impacting driving.
      • Conditions like ADD, ADHD, anxiety, autism spectrum disorder, OCD, Crohn’s disease, bipolar disorder, and other challenges.

At ALC, we’re here to support drivers in navigating these challenges and ensuring their safety on the road.


The Process

Step 1:
At Allied Learning Center (ALC), initiating the evaluation process is simple. You can either have your physician make a referral or contact us directly by phone or in person at ALC. No referral is necessary to begin.

Step 2:
Next, complete the health questionnaires, soon to be conveniently online, from the comfort of your home. If needed, you can enlist the help of family, friends, or caregivers to assist you. If you require assistance with completing the questionnaires, don’t worry—we’re here to support you through the process.

Step 3:
Proceed to the clinical evaluation, where our team will conduct assessments on various aspects of your health, including vision, range of motion, motor strength, and reaction time. We’ll also review your prescription medications for any potential concerns and administer cognitive tests such as CDT, MoCA, Trail Making Part A and B, among others.

Step 4:
Following the clinical evaluation, you’ll undergo a behind-the-wheel assessment to evaluate your actual driving skills.

Step 5:
Receive your final Certified Comprehensive Driver Evaluation Report (CCDE) from Allied Learning Center (ALC). This comprehensive report will encompass the questionnaire responses, clinical evaluations, medication assessments, and behind-the-wheel assessment results.

At ALC, we go beyond just providing evaluation reports. We offer additional support services such as refresher courses to enhance driving skills or recommend vehicle modifications as needed. Moreover, we provide valuable information on driving retirement and alternative transportation options, if deemed appropriate.

Doctors and family members can rely on our evaluations when counseling patients or loved ones recovering from physical injuries or surgeries. Our evaluation process is thorough, addressing critical areas where drivers may experience difficulties, including legal, cognitive, visual, physical, behavioral, financial, social, and future considerations.
