Drivers Education behind the wheel training

Parents, when it is time for your “baby” to learn to drive, trust them with Allied Learning Center. For us, driving is much more than go, stop, and turn. You want your new driver to learn how to drive safely and handle those unexpected situations. We can be trusted to go the extra mile. With our help, your teen will receive personalized instruction and gain an understanding of advanced driving techniques.

The student’s successful completion of the 30-hour driver’s education course requires each of the following:

    1. Punctual attendance for all class sessions. (Not even a minute late. DDS rules.)
    2. Reasonable attentiveness and participation in all class sessions.
    3. Makeup classes for missed sessions within 6 months. Once a session is missed, the student has to do all of the remaining sessions at a future time.
    4. Successfully passing a written examination with a grade of at least 70.

Students as young as 14 can participate in the 30-hour driver education course. Students must be at least 15 years of age and have a driver’s permit in their name before we can put them behind the wheel.

Lessons will start from our office at 15 E. Montgomery Cross Rd, Suite D, Savannah, GA. If the student needs to be picked up or dropped off at a different location upon completion of the lesson, a charge of $25-50 (depending on location) will be assessed.

There will be a $50 cancellation fee if we don’t receive notice at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled lesson time. This fee must be paid before the date of other scheduled lessons. Of course, this is to discourage last-minute cancellations and no-shows.

If the school’s vehicle is needed for testing at DDS, the charge will be $150 plus pick-up fees.

The student will receive a certificate of completion after the conclusion of the 30-hour course and/or at least six hours of drive time with Allied Learning Center.  This will not satisfy the 40-hours of total drive time needed to apply for their driver’s license.  They will need practice, whether that be with a family member at least 21 years old, or with us, to get ready for the road test and to be ready to drive safely by themselves.

Possible insurance discount

Policies differ between insurance companies, but according to O.C.G.A 33-9-42, taking a driver’s education course CAN make you eligible for at least a 10% discount on your car insurance. Many companies give discounts when the student completes at least six hours with a certified driving instructor in addition to the drivers education course.

Tax credit

Allied Learning Center is a private company. According to O.C.G.A. 48-7-29.5, taking a driver’s education course with a private company will make you eligible to receive either a tax credit of the amount paid for the course or $150, whichever is less.
